The book I like best is Robinson Crusoe because i think I have benefited a lot from reading it.
It was written by Daniel Defoe, a world-famous American novelist. He wrote many novels and short stories,
a few of which have been adapted for movies. But this novelette remains my favorite. So far I have read it eight times.
What appeals to me, first of all, is its plot. It centers around a young boy‘s unceasing struggle with the sea.
The young man demonstrates his courage best when he makes the remark,
“Fatalism is that the weak excuse for a lack of willpower.” Secondly, I really appreciate the author’s writing style.
As in many of his other works, simplicity and lucidity are characteristic of Robinson Crusoe’s style.
I have learned a lot from the book. It has not only inspired me to be courageous enough to face challenges in life but taught me how to write.
